Data Warehousing

Data Warehousing technology allows our customers to integrate data from disparate systems or sub-systems to provide an integrated view of the organization. Our experience includes rapid implementations using pre-configured functionality as well as highly optimized configuration to deliver a robust data warehousing.

With the introduction of HANA it is possible to deliver a real-time integrated solution and thereby eliminating the periodic data load time lag and monitoring/reconciliation requirement. As a result the overall cost of ownership is reduced.

A data warehouse is commonly positioned as a repository for all master data and actual transactions needed for the planning processes, as well as plan to actual variance analysis.

Leverage flexible tools like ad hoc reporting and analysis, dashboards and visualization – add data quality management and integration – along with prepackaged data marts that deliver faster, higher ROI. The analytical tool choices provided by SAP (and non-SAP vendors) have been rapidly evolving over the past decade, each with its unique strengths and focus. With our experienced resources and reporting templates our customers gain a competitive advantage.

Our approach is to match the analytical requirement with the best suitable solution and Madiba has decision trees to help facilitate the process. Madiba also focuses on formally embedding the analytics into the business process it support, especially in those cases where the business process itself has already been automated.

Executive and Management Reporting

Supplement transactional data with appropriate management reporting capabilities. For executive reporting the solution usually starts with an analysis of corporate strategies and targets to create a balanced set of key performance indicators (KPI). An appropriate BI solution with on-line analytical capabilities are used to provide drill-down capabilities on the identified KPI’s. KPI’s, trends, alerts and exceptions are visually displayed in a wide variety of formats to support “management by exception.” Management reporting functionality with integrated drill-down capabilities is commonly implemented to support the company’s key business strategies and performance indicators (KPI’s).

We also implement a concept of “management on the run” by delivering executive reporting on a mobile platform to provide quick overview whether traveling or checking latest performance between meetings.

Finally, it is best practice to align the reporting with the performance review process for manager to allow for reporting on KPIs that are part of an individual’s performance assessment.

Operational reporting

With the advances in real-time data replication as well as in-memory data warehousing solutions (e.g., SAP’s HANA) our customers get the benefit of relevant operational reporting, as well as notifications of unexpected variances. This allows for timely responses.
